Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara were involved in an unbeaten 70-run stand for the third wicket to steer India to 92 for 2 at Lunch on Day 1 of the second Test against England in Vishakapatnam. The duo mixed caution with aggression and ensured India didn’t suffer a batting collapse in the morning session after the openers were dismissed cheaply.

India sprung a surprise on Thursday (November 17) by handing offspinner Jayant Yadav a debut in place of Amit Mishra, who had picked up five wickets at the same venue less than three weeks ago in a One-Day International against New Zealand. Incidentally, Yadav made his ODI debut in the same game. KL Rahul replaced Gautam Gambhir at the top of the order as widely expected, after being drafted into the squad a couple of days ago. For England, veteran seamer James Anderson came into the XI in place of bowling allrounder Chris Woakes, a move that evoked mixed opinions.
