Rayagada: In a unfortunate occurrence, a class V student of Parikshita elementary school allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside the school premises close Ramanaguda the previous evening.
Detainees of the lodging where he stayed discovered him hanging in his room today and informed the school authorities.
Sources said he took his supper last night and went to bed alongside his friends.
Narendra Misal, a resident of Penekama village in this district, was staying in the residential (Ashram school) school run by the State government.
The reason for the death has not yet been ascertained. Police have seized the body and started investigation.
