Bhubaneswar: Even as Odisha and Chhattisgarh are yet to determine the debate encompassing the projects on the upstream of Mahanadi river, Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh has ordered concerned authorities to expedite the works on Mahanadi and other streams.

Emphasizing on the projects which have been undertaken in the past two years, Singh has asked the Chhattisgarh Water Resources department to expedite them and finish them by the deadline.

Notably, the projects in question include the contentious Arpa-Bhainsjhar project. Singh has been apprised that that the main Arpa project is 74% complete while the Arpa canal project has approached 32% completion.
