Puri: The Vigilance official today led raids at the houses and office of Puri Jail Superintendent Karna Pradhan on charges of storing up disproportionate assets.

The officials drove by the Vigilance DSP raided at five spots including Karna’s office, quarters and a house at Matiapada.

A team also looked the prison authority’s home at Nayapalli and ancestral home at Junei in Konark.

Sources said the sleuths seized Rs 1 lakh cash, bank passbooks and some incriminating documents from Karna’s official quarters located on the premises of the jail during the search.

When asked about the searches, Karna told media persons, “I don’t know anything. The vigilance is undertaking the raid at my quarters,” adding he doesn’t have houses elsewhere except one in Puri.
