AMRITSAR: Two Pakistani smugglers were killed while another was harmed as BSF jawans fired at them to thwart an endeavor to sneak medications along the Indo-Pak boarder in Fazilka in Punjab.
Authorities said the incident happened around 2 am when Border Security Force faculty recognized some suspicious movements along the International Border in the territory under Sohana outskirt post and tested the gatecrashers.
“While two Pakistani nationals have been killed, another has been injured and apprehended by BSF. About 15 packets of narcotic, suspected to be heroin, has been seized from them, besides some arms and ammunition. This seems to be a case of cross-border drug smuggling,” one of the officials said.
The officials said the bodies have been recovered and a search has been launched in the area.
Senior officials of the border guarding force have reached the forward area and more details are awaited, they said.
