Bhubaneswar: Normal life in Odisha became disrupted on Thursday as around 18,000 private buses taking vehicles stay away street dissenting the arrest proprietor of a bus which met a mishap close Manitri of Athmallick in Angul locale on September 9 causing death of 19 people.
As per reports, the private transports over the state will stay off the streets from 6 am on September 29 to 6 am on September 30 as a part of protest the unlawful arrest of the transport owner.
The State truck association has also lent its moral support to the strike called by the private bus owners’ association, the sources added.
The association has also threatened to go for a strike for an indefinite period from October 7 if the owner of the bus is not released immediately.
