Bhubaneswar: Crime Branch officials nabbed Oscar chit fund organization director Prabhas Rout from Delhi on charges of hoodwinking guileless chit store financial investors.
The Economic Offense Wing (EOW) of the state investigate organization is taking Rout back to Odisha on remand for further cross examination, said BK Sharma, Special DG, Crime Branch.
According to Crime Branch sources, Rout was residing in a temple in Delhi in Hauz Khas area with fictitious name and has invested money in film productions.
Besides, he was running his chit fund business in Gujarat and Maharashtra including Odisha and complaints were registered against him for duping customers a tune of Rs 230 crore.
