A Chennai-bound Oman Air plane from Muscat on Thursday made a emergency landing at Goa International air terminal in Dabolim after a lady traveler became sick.

“There was (a) emergency arrival because of a restorative reason at 7 AM. Oman Airway’s flight that was traveling to Chennai from Muscat had a lady traveler who reported sick mid-air,” Dabolim Airport executive, Bhupesh Negi said. The passenger was later declareddead by doctors, he said. The flight later took off to its scheduled journey.

Meanwhile, Goa Police, which lodged a case in this regard, said the woman passenger was referred to government- run Cottage Hospital at Chicalim, near the airport. “She was declared brought dead by doctors at the hospital,” a police official said. Details of the passenger were awaited.
