Bhubaneswar: Students of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) showed a road blockade today in protest against the asserted “rape” of a young lady student of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, which comes up short on the high-security grounds scarcely 500 meters far from Infocity police limits, last evening.
The identification of the victim is yet to be determined.
Angry over the ghastly incident, over a thousand students of the institution blocked the KIIT-Sikharchandi road and demanded immediate and strong action against the culprits.
The agitating students, mostly girls, alleged that though the victim cried for help being chased and overpowered by the miscreants, the security men didn’t come to her rescue.
