MUMBAI: Incessant rain kept on lashing Mumbai city and neighboring locale on Saturday, tossing normal life out of rigging even as meteorologists predicted heavy rains over the state for tomorrow.
Local trains were running late on the Central Railway this mornng, bothering daily commuters. However, vehicular movement remained undisrupted and no water logging episodes were noticed, disaster management authorities said.
According to data by the Meteorology department here, Mumbai city recorded 10.42mm of rainfall, while eastern and western suburbs of the metropolis recorded 4.88mm and 12.29mm rainfall overnight.
Other parts of Maharashtra also received moderate to heavy downpour in the last 24 hours with Alibaug recording 186.7mm rainfall, Ratnagiri 31.2mm, Mahabaleshwar 21.9mm and Parbhani 84.0mm rainfall,” said a weather official.
