Bhubaneswar: After playing hide & seek for around a week, the southwest monsoon at long last set in over some parts of Odisha today, a release issued by the IMD said.
“It (monsoon) has checked areas of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri furthermore some parts of the abutting regions of Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khorda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati,” the notice said.
IMD regional director, Bhubaneswar Sarat Chandra Sahu said, “The conditions are favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into remaining parts of Odisha during next 2 to 3 days.”
“The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat 15 N / Long 60 E, Lat 15 N / Long 70 E, Karwar, Gadag, Kurnool, Kalingapatnam, Cuttack, Jamshedpur and Forbesganj,” the IMD said.
