Malkangiri: A prisoner of Malkangiri sub imprison allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside the prison on Monday morning.
The expired has been identified as Muka Madkami of Baidghata region under Kalimela police stations.
As indicated by sources, Madkami hanged himself with a towel inside the toilet in the prison.
Notably, police had arrested Madkami two months ago suspecting him to be a Maoist. He was arrested on charges of working with Kalimela Dalam.
“Police has started investigation into the matter. We are waiting for the postmortem report to ascertain the circumstances under which he died,” the local Inspector in Charge (IIC) said.
