Sopore : One militant has been killed in a police encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore territory between security force and terrorists, who are professedly caught inside a house.

The operation is being directed by the Army and the police.

“Security force on data about the nearness of aggressors, surrounded a house in Chana mohalla area today (Friday) morning,” a senior police said.

“As the security forces closed on the house, they came under heavy gunfire from hiding militants.”

“There are reports of two militants firing from inside the house,” the official added.
