Bhubaneswar: The IMD odisha sounds alarm of heavy rains in Parts of coastal and interior Odisha in next 48 hours due to the formation of a low pressure formed over Andaman sea in Bay of Bengal.

“A low pressure area has been formed over south Andaman sea and neighbourhood today. It is very likely to move northwestwards and concentrate into a deep depression during next 24 hours over southwest Bay of Bengal. Subsequently it is very likely to intensify further while moving northwestwards,” a bulletin issued by Met department said.

Weathermen said parts of Odisha are likely to witness moderate rain in next 48 hours.

“As the model indicates, the low pressure will move towards north-west and it likely to form into deep depression in next 24 hours. We are expecting moderate rain in next 48 hours mostly in coastal and central parts of the State. Some part of the State may witness heavy rain on 4th or 5th of November,” said Sarat Chandra Sahu, director, Bhubaneswar Meteorological centre.
