As the flood in Bihar stays critical, the Army and the Air Force have been asked for to remain focused in case of any fatalities, sources said. The loss of life in the flood hit state has crossed 90.

Two lakh individuals have apparently lost their homes in flood ravaged Bihar, as waters from Sone and Ganga river ruptured dikes.

PM Narendra Modi communicated his worry over the situation in surge hit territories and assured complete backing from the Center in salvage and relief operations.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to chief ministers of four flood-hit states — Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand — and assured Centre’s help in dealing with the disaster.

“I assured the chief ministers of full cooperation from the Centre in the flood mitigation drive launched by the states,” an official statement said.
