Bhubaneswar: Dreaded criminal Suresh Gajendra sustained bullet harms on his leg in a police encounter at Nuagaon in Khandagiri late on Friday night.
Acting on a tip off, a special squad of police raided Nuagaon region where Gajendra and his another partner were purportedly hatching a plan to commit a crime in the area.
At the point when the police attempted to grab them, Gajendra opened fire at the squad. In reply, the police fired back at Gajendra dispensing bullet wounds on his right leg, police sources said.
A seriously injured Gajendra was first admitted to Capital hospital and later shifted to SCB medical college and hospital in Cuttack, the sources added.
The associate of Gajendra, however, managed to escape from the spot during the encounter.
