Rourkela: Curfew has been imposed in Rourkela after group clash broke out amid Ganpati immersion. 20 platoons of police force alongside CRPF have been sent to keep the situation spiraling out of control.
As indicated by sources, around 10 PM yesterday night a brutal conflict broke out between two groups at Old Station street after 10 idols of lord Ganesha were being taken for immersion from Bisra Bazaar to Brahmani River. Stones were pelted by the individuals from the groups at each other and police needed to reestablish to mellow lathicharge to bring the situation under control.
The SP and the ADM also visited the spot and held discussions with the clashing groups.
