Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), on Tuesday, released the notification for the UGC NET exam to be conducted in November 2017.

As per the issued notification issued for the NET exam, the candidates can apply online from August 1, 2017 and the last date for applying online is August 30, 2017. The fee can be paid up to August 31, 2017.

The exam, to determine eligibility for college and university level lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), will be held on November 5.

The candidates can get the detailed notification available on the website http://cbsenet.nic.in.

It is worth mentioning that UGC has brought some changes in the qualifying criteria of the UGC NET following which 6 percent of the total candidates who appear in the UGC-NET examination will now be declared qualified. This has been clarified by the UGC in a public notice dated July 14.

Earlier percentage of candidates actually qualifying the examination remained below 5 per cent. Only the top 15% of candidates in each subject and category with minimum required marks in paper-I, paper-II and paper-III were being considered qualified basing upon their category.

Meanwhile, UGC expects the number of NET aspirants qualifying the entrance exam to increase at least by 6% as against 3.99% in January 2017.
