A bomb scare was reported at the Netaji Subhas Chandra International Airport on board an Air India flight AI-729 in Kolkata on Tuesday morning.
A threat call got around 8 am at the air terminal said that a bomb had been planted on board a Guwahati-bound Air India air plane from Kolkata.
All the travelers on board the airplane have been emptied and a hunt operation has been started by the CISF and air terminal officials. The plane has been taken to the confinement cove from straight 28 for an intensive probe.
“We have evacuated the aircraft and now it has been taken to the isolation bay, where search operation is being carried out. Till now, we have not been able to find anything on board the aircraft,” said a senior official of the CISF, in charge of the airport security.
