Angul: A four-year-old girl was raped by a youth in Samakoi Sahi of Angarbandh area in Angul locale.
The blamed has been identified as Sarathi Sahu.
The occurrence happened at 3PM on Friday. The blamed purportedly threatened the minor girl not to inform about the episode to anybody. In any case, taking a gander at the physical state of the girl, local people sought for data from the minor girl.
After the news spread, tension erupted in the village and villagers thrashed accused Sarathi Sahu black and blue. Later he was handed over to the police. Angul police rushed to the spot and rescued the beaten up youth and has brought him to the police station where he is being interrogated.
Meanwhile, the victim girl has been admitted to the Angul district headquarters hospital for medical examination.
