NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday suspended MLA Alka Lamba from the post of party spokesperson, for two months.
Lamba was apparently expelled as AAP spokesperson over her announcement that Gopal Rai was “diminished” of the transport portfolio on Tuesday in light of the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB’s) investigation concerning defilement allegations identified with favoring an application based premium transport service.
Reacting to her suspension, Lamba said that she is a disciplined worker and will abide by the party’s decision. “If I have made a mistake unknowingly, I am ready to repent,” Lamba tweeted on Thursday.
On June 14, Gopal Rai had quit as transport minister citing his health, even as the opposition BJP and Congress termed it a fallout of the ACB’s investigation.
